Live Demo: PA Aviation Economic Impact Calculator
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Aviation (BOA) has created the Airport Economic Impact Calculator to assist airport sponsors, planners, the public, and other interested parties in estimating the economic impact of an airport based on activity in three areas: airport administration (including capital expenditures), airport tenants, and visitor spending.
The Calculator is pre-programmed with airport impacts from the 2022 Pennsylvania Aviation Economic Impact Study (PA AEIS) which are based on Calendar Year (CY) 2019 activity. The tool allows users to create hypothetical scenarios and compare them with current economic impact data. PennDOT internal users will maintain official airport impact records that will be updated as needed. Collaborating with PA AEIS consultant, Kimley-Horn, a webinar will be hosted to show the calculator’s functionality to empower users through a comprehensive tutorial session. The webinar will be recorded for accessibility and aims to enhance user comfort and proficiency in utilizing the tool effectively.
